ABDUL VAHID. K is currently working as Head of Department and Assistant Professor in Islamic History in MES Mampad College (Autonomous), Kerala. He has a PG Degree in Islamic Studies and BA Degree in Sociology. His has also a Master Degree in Islamic and Contemporary Sciences from Darul Huda Islamic University, an Islamic University affiliated to Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, Morocco and The League of Islamic Universities, Cairo. He was awarded FLAIR National Internship by Government of Kerala in 2016 which was pursued in Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi. He was awarded Junior Research Fellowship by UGC for Ph.D. He has around 10 years of experience in research and teaching. His areas of teaching interest include Cultural contacts in Indian Ocean, Religious harmony, Hindu-Muslim cultural symbiosis, History of Sayyid families in South India, Sufism with special focus on Ba Alawi Tariqa, History of Caliphates, History of Islamic Law etc.

is presently a member of Academic Council, University of Calicut. He has previously served as member of Board of Studies in University of Calicut and MES Mampad College. He has carried out a UGC Minor Research Project on “Minority Politics: A New Interpretation by Kerala Muslims and Role of Ulema in it.” He has published a number of research papers in refereed national and international Journals. Besides, he has presented several papers in international and national level conferences and acted as a reviewer for several reputed journals.
